Pragati Chaswal
Pragati Chaswal is the founder of SowGood, an initiative that brings nature connection to urban children through hands-on experiences and school programs. Before starting SowGood, Pragati spent over a decade in advertising – working with the one-on-one marketing divisions of Ogilvy, Lintas, and McCann, and later heading the Delhi branch of UCP Direct. Her journey into sustainability began in 2015, when she started growing vegetables on her terrace garden to encourage her son to eat better. What began as a small family experiment soon became a way of life. Composting, reducing dependence on chemicals, and growing their own food became part of her family’s daily routine. To deepen her understanding, Pragati completed an Organic Farming course from IGNOU and trained in Permaculture Design. In 2017, she founded SowGood to bring this experience of wonder, learning, and care for nature to children in cities. She has since pioneered a 3-year Nature Connect Curriculum for schools, built on her three-step sustained impact philosophy – Vichar, Achar, Prachar – encouraging thought, action, and advocacy. Her approach to working with children draws from Sri Aurobindo’s philosophy of Free Progress, which values self-directed learning, and Gandhiji’s Nai Talim, which integrates knowledge with hands-on work. Through SowGood, Pragati continues to reimagine education—creating spaces where children learn with their hands, hearts, and the earth itself.
